The Bolt Action Pack Howitzer has been given a nice homemade base and some ground wire ammo.

Thanks for that. Funny enough, someone resurrected the same thread on the Lead Adventures site - is that you too?

I'm planning on getting the rest of the Airborne Platoon sorted in March/April and maybe squeeze a WI article out of it, so stay tooned!

I did four more fellas recently for an article and thought you'd like a peek at them. Don't worry Dan if you're reading, these aren't the pics from the article! I hope you enjoy them. Special mention has to go to Warlord Games for being so damn slow with an order I placed on the 3rd that I was able to use neither the models I had originally planned to, nor the 'Jump Wings' decals (I had to do them freehand) ... it still hasn't arrived.

Two guys with 2" mortars and two snipers.

Here they are individually in more detail, beginning with the snipers.

And now the mortarmen. It was only while looking at my source pics that I discovered the sighting mechanism for these wee mortars was a white line painted down the barrel!

Beautiful as ever! :D

Would you dare a rough estimate of how much time goes into a single such miniature?

Cheers Mike. If you take away drying time, gazing zombie-like out of the window and the compulsory breaks to watch Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom, probably about 2-3hrs or so each. Batch painting is obviously more time efficient, so if I did half a dozen at a time it wouldn't take much longer than 3 or 4 models at a time.

A couple of reinforcements. I really love these classic Paul Hicks models, but there's an awful lot of berets and stens in the boxed set and the packs, so I'm trying to individually buy more guys with helmets and rifles. I like these assault ones with the little bayonets and grenades.

I think they were the best figures Paul did for the old Bolt Action range. Not as keen on the newer figures, I appreciate they've gone in a different direction with the sculpts but I'm not fond of them.
